The journey you are about to take goes through the beautiful and historic forests of the Secret Valley. Like all forests, there are insects, some of which may choose to bite you if you and they come into contact. You will note that we will be in the middle of the woods in areas accessible only by the railroad. We encourage you, if you have an allergy, to take along allergy medication which can include Benadryl or EpiPens if they are prescribed to you. We do have a first aid kit on our speeder just in case, but that is no substitute for any prescription medication you may require.
Explore the same magical rock cuts that were hand-dug by Civil War veterans in the late 1860s. Learn about the magnetic rocks that spawned the first iron industry in the United States provided George Washington with cannonballs and later brought Thomas Edison to the Secret Valley for an invention that was not as successful as the lightbulb.
Rail bikes are people-powered rail vehicles. The low coefficient of friction of our 150-year old steel rails makes the bikes easy to pedal, welcoming persons of all ages. In our next generation of rail bikes, our hand-crank, motor-assist bike will be perfect for persons with disabilities. Please follow us for updates during future seasons.
